You Can't Even Boil Water Properly!

After coming home from work yesterday I had my usually dinner consisting of rice, and a few side dishes. When I was finished I wanted some soup ("tong") but it was cold. I wanted to reheat it so I turned the stovetop on full blast.

Meanwhile my videogame finished loading so I went over to play it. About 10 minutes into it... I realized I forgot about my soup. I ran over to turn it off but it was too late. All the soup had evaporated and all that was left were some veggies and meat.

I, Alan, Cannot Cook (read: Boil Water).

I have come to a realization...

After coming back from 24 hour fitness after a 3 month or so hiatus. I have come to the conclusion that I hate working out and I lack major self dicipline. These things should be worked on if I want to become successful at anything I do. Pronto!

I got to the gym around 11pm and it was still packed. With a bunch of meat-heads and gym-whores going at it. I don't fall into either of these catagories but my primary motivation is to A) live a little longer B) live a little longer in good health and C)Balance my weekend drinking habit out with some good old-fashioned kalestinics.

I need a personal trainer that I have to either succeed with or fail in front of. I actually sort of miss P.E.

My Binge Drinking Taking a Toll?

I didn't really start "drinking-drinking" until I was 21. But since then I have been consistently drinking at least 2 weekends a month (if not more). I have never thought twice about going out and partying but ever since I started to forget things that occured the night before I am starting to wonder. Are my brain cells really depleting at a faster rate than usual?!

I am thinking it may have to do with the fact that I hold my liquor many times better than I did before. I can take more drinks now and still not vomit. Maybe it's the fact that the alcohol is digested makes my brain forget things.

Or maybe it's my old age of 23 going on 24. O noes!

I may have to take some supplements to improve this wonderful thinking machine of mind or I will have to seriously reconsider drinking so much.

p.s. soju is the devil's piss.

Restaurant Romp: Favorite Grill in San Gabriel

Had lunch with Jenn yesterday and me being the huge geek I am took along my trusty d80.

The food was typical Asian cafe food. Not worth trying if you are looking for something "new".

Jenn had the Mango+honey dew steak and I had the "trio".

The porportions were huge but that's the only thing positive about this place. I think they were giving me strange looks for taking pictures in their restaurant. :P

Cures for my early morning groggy voice?!

I get this groggy voice sometimes when I sleep too much or when I haven't gotten enough sleep. It sounds pretty bad (much like that of your grandma, sick).

I am open to suggestions. Anyone have any ancient Chinese cures?

I am back!

Just got back from a great time in Oahu. This vacation was pretty exhausting but super fun as well. We went to Diamond Head, Wakiki Beach, NorthShore, Dole Plantation,Polynesian Cultural Center, Paradise Cove and a bunch of other places I don't remember at the moment.

The weather was fantastic but I am glad to be home.

Here's a picture of a sunset off of Waikiki Beach

"O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened"

Hhaha... I guess OJ is a little short on money so this is the only thing that people would be interested in. Got to love the US Judicial system.

Actually I am more upset at the fact that I miss so many reruns of Saved By The Bell during the lengthy trial.

Fox plans to broadcast an interview with O.J. Simpson in which the former football star discusses "how he would have committed" the slayings of his ex-wife and her friend, for which he was acquitted, the network said. The two-part interview, titled "O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened," will air Nov. 27 and Nov. 29, the TV network said.
Simpson has agreed to an "unrestricted" interview with book publisher Judith Regan, Fox said.
"O.J. Simpson, in his own words, tells for the first time how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible for the crimes," the network said in a statement. "In the two-part event, Simpson describes how he would have carried out the murders he has vehemently denied committing for over a decade."
The interview will air days before Simpson's new book, "If I Did It," goes on sale Nov. 30. The book, published by Regan, "hypothetically describes how the murders would have been committed."
In a video clip on the network's Web site, an off-screen interviewer says to Simpson, "You wrote 'I have never seen so much blood in my life.'"
"I don't think any two people could be murdered without everybody being covered in blood," Simpson responds.
Simpson, who now lives in Florida, was acquitted in a criminal trial of the 1994 killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson was later found liable in 1997 in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Goldman family.
Messages left with Simpson and his attorney Yale Galanter were not immediately returned.

The McRib is back!

Decided I wanted to get into some shape before I took off for Hawaii tomorrow so for lunch I wanted the McRib.

After ordering the combo I was disapointed to know that it no long has its own box but was wrapped just like the 99 cent double cheeseburgers even though it cost 3 times as much!

Long story short, the McRib should go back to where it came from until it doesn't taste like garbage!

Note: It doesn't look this good nor does it come with a plate or some fancy cloth in the background.

Frozen Pizza

It's close to 3am and I am still awake because I took a 2 and a half hour nap (was supposed to be 30 minutes). I just ate a frozen pizza. It was good (like always) and as I was devouring it reminded me of all the good times I've had eating frozen pizza. Oddly as this may sound, it's true.

It brought back memories of nights after partying coming home with a big appetite and popping in a Red Baron into the microwave. YUMMMM

I also remembered all the frozen pizzas I ate when I was younger. Everything from Celeste, Red Baron, Stouffers, Genos, CPK, Bagel Bites, etc.

p.s. I also love eating the melted cheese off the plate, box, tray, etc.

p.s.s. Work is going to be dreadful tomorrow with only 5 hours of sleep.

"I'll be Gone In November...

Gone in November, please tell my baby I'll be gone in November"

Leaving for Oahu in T-1.5 days. I still have a feel things to shop for but I have barely started packing (no biggy). Reality hasn't set in yet that I am going on vacation (it usually doesn't until a day after vacation starts).

Hopefully my pale ass will get some color (besides white) by the time I get back. I hear there's going to be a 70% chance of rain on some days.

Photo Term of the Day: Bokeh

Bokeh (from the Japanese boke ぼけ, "blur"[1]) is a photographic term describing the subjective aesthetic qualities of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens. For example, causing an out-of-focus background image may reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject.

Tiring Weekend

This weekend... after partying on Saturday I went to Staples center to watch the Clippers beat Hornets and then came back to watch the Lakers beat the Grizzlys. Both games weren't as entertaining as they should have been but it was fun regardless. Got to watch it in the Wells Fargo sky box.

Next weekend Ill be catching sun rays in Oahu!

Deja Vu Part II

This is very odd... A week after writing my blog about my deja vu experience on my way to work my friend gets into a car accident and flips his vehicle too!

Very odd.

Drive safe everyone!

The Standard in Hollywood

Went to The Standard last night and get pretty trashed. The place itself isn't all that great but the fact that they sell 40 oz malt liquor for $12 makes it all worth it. They also throw in a brown paper bag with no extra charge! Beat that with a bat!

Happy 19th Birthday Mylinh!

Cankersoreous!!!

I got a canker sore a feel days ago and this thing grew to the size of a cm (almost). I've tried many things and this thing will not go away. I've tried Oragel(MAX strength), Gly-oxide, gargling salt, cankermelts GX (god these suck), and taking more vitamins (b12, Vit C, Multi V). It has been about 5 days and it sucks!

Anyone have any remedies not mentioned?

I am reading online that lysine may work.

I hope it goes away before my Hawaii trip. Ekkk

The Prestige was meh.

I just saw "The Prestige" tonight as opposed to watching "Saw III", "The Departed", or Borat because my friend was telling me about the great reviews she heard about from friends/coworkers, etc. The movie was ok but it was way too long for what it is. Maybe it's because I am not too fond of magic tricks and middle of the century themed films. Actually it may just be the fact that Scarlett Johansson did not get down and dirty in this film. I would have gave it 2 thumbs up if she did.

Still waiting to watch "Saw III".

To be continued...

Hawaii is about 1 week away! Can't wait....

Expiration Dates...... for People.

I was thinking about this while I was on one of my off-tangent thinking episodes.(actually I was thinking of possible web development opportunities) I was thinking what if we have the ability to accurately (within 1 or 2 months) predict when we would leave this world (assuming it is natural death)? Would any of us really give a shit? Would we change the things we do to prolong the inevitable? What would you do?!

I can only speak for myself. Since it is unlikely this will ever be possible I can only take a stab at what I would do. We already know that life is "short" and every waking second is a second that is gone forever but in order for me to live a full and happy life I can't let these uncontrollable factors affect me. If I was told that I would die on January 12, 2077 (give or take 2 months), I really would not change the things I do now. Why worry about graduating college when you are only in 3rd grade? There really is no point to that.

All I can do now is to live a life with the fewest regrets possible and hopefully make some people happy along the way.

Today's Blog was brought to you by me BORED at work (on a friday I might add)

Carpe Diem!

Deja Vu (Car Accident)

On the way to work today on the 605 I was driving straight on the far left lane. Everything normal like usual until out of nowhere this mofo decides to merge into my lane. He didnt even signal! I had to swerve into the car pool lane (good thing no one was there)to avoid that mother! I gave him the evil eye afterwards and he was just laughing... should have hit him so I could own his insurance company.

3 years ago the same thing happened and I wasn't so lucky when I swerved. There was a car there and I ended up upside down on the 60 freeway. The worst part about that ordeal was that I was held liable because the car did not make contact with my vehicle prior to me swerving (who in there right mind would wait for a car to hit them instead of trying to avoid it?).

I suppose the smartest thing one could do in this situation is to brake and hope someone doesn't rear-end you.

Drive Safe this weekend.

New Rewards Credit Card From Chase! 5% Cashback! F U Citi!

So earlier this month, Citi bank decides to screw over all of its loyal customers by cutting off back the 5% cashback on groceries and gas purchases down to 1%. The only thing that they have improved is to allow 2% cashback on pharmacy purchases (big whoop). Based on my current shopping habits about 0% of my shopping is at pharmacies so this pretty much makes the Citibank Dividend card useless (as far as rewards are concerned). After realizing how shitty this "rewards" card is I decided to look elsewhere and low and behold I have found it. The Chase Cash Plus Rewards card.

This card is a special offer only available over the phone. The benefits of this card is as follows. A $100 rebate check after your first purchase, 5% back on gas and groceries, and last but not least, 0% APR on balance transfers and PURCHASES!

To apply for this card:
Call 1-888-787-0329

And use offer code "94f"

West Hollywood was Great! (Halloween)

A few friends and I went to the "largest Halloween party in the World" last night in West Hollywood. I was reluctant on going at first for many reasons; traffic, parking, large crowds, and I had work the next day. But I eventually decided to go and all of my concerns were realized when it took us about an hour and a half to find parking on city streets all the while driving through slow moving traffic. After we finally claimed a parking spot we rolled down to the closed off streets where there were large, LARGE crowds. We walked and walked through the large crowd formations until we found a bar (I forgot the name). This is where we got our party on, which made the night very fun and worth all the above mentioned gripes.
