Merry Belated Xmas!

I hope everyone got what they wanted and had a great time with friends and family. I spent my weekend in Las Vegas. I haven't gone to LV for Xmas since I was in grade school. I had a great time gambling and hanging out with the crew. The only shitty part about the trip was that we all got sick and had boogers dripping every couple of minutes.

Viva Las Xmas!

Don't Believe Everything You Read Online

After browsing the Internet in search of xmas gifts from various people. I realized that I trust reviews and recommendations by online "users" way too much. Why should I trust a user that I have never met or even seen in real life? I liken this to asking a guy standing in front of a restaurant if it is any good. I don't know about you, but I would only take his advice with a grain of salt for a few reasons:

1) He could have very bad taste.
2) This guy could be working for them.
3) He could be bullsh*ting me.

But when reading reviews online, the dynamics of the situation are completely different. Why is there so much credibility?!
Is it because the reviewer is competent enough to write a paragraph? Or is it because the reviewer took the time to put his thoughts online?

Either way the reviewer is just giving his/hers opinion on the subject and that is just that, SUBJECTIVE.

Thoughts?

This weekend rocked.

The snowboarding trip was pretty fun since I haven't been up in 2 years. It was even more fun after we killed a bottle of Jagger and lots o beers!
Here are some pictures:

After coming back from Morango on Saturday we went down to Club Quach. That was great (the parts I remember). I hate not remembering.

What will next weekend hold?

After a 2 Year Hiatus

I am finally going to be back on the slopes! Going to Snow Summit tomorrow for the first time in ages. I don't even know if I can do the intermediate slopes. Hopefully I don't have to resort to bunny slopes all day. This shall be fun.

Afterwards we are gonna stay at a cabin and hang out in the heated pool (I love that!). And enjoy a brewski or two or 10!

Good time will ensue... pictures will follow.

Wait a minute.... BREAKING NEWS! Drinking 4 drinks/day HEALTHY for us?!

This cannot be true. Or can it? Either way, I still drink more than that. :P

But they recommend 4 drinks/day for males and 2 /day for females. I dunno about this one. Sometimes you shouldn't believe everything you read online. :P

A pictures says a thousand words...

Half of them are lies.

Check out this photographer's site. He does some crazy airbrushing on his models. I can't stand the plastic look on all of his photos.

Party in My Room !

Didn't want to go out tonight (yes, I know... I am lame). I got hungry and decided to make myself (microwave) a teriyaki bowl thing from Costco.

Here's a picture:

I also had a opened Cranberry Raspberry Snapple. And for the curious, here's the real fact on the bottle top:

30 Seconds From Mars - From Yesterday Video

the only reason I am posting this video is because it is the only American music video ever to be filmed from the motherland, China.

The song is pretty good also but the video is odd (to say the least).

Enjoy.

Tea Time Part II

Went down for some boba but decided to get some fruit tea tonight with the tea drinking buddy, Jenn.

She finally decided to drive down to my neck of the woods so we went to Life Plaza. We ordered fruit tea and french fries. Awesome combo! (would have been better with a cold drink though).

For your viewing pleasure...

Can't Please Everyone

As I was working today (chatting on AIM) I get a message that read "you really like blogging, huh?" and later on my other friend messages me with "you are late on your blog"

I haven't posted in 2 days or so and now I am being criticized on both ends of the spectrum.

I am fired?!?! no.... I QUIT!

:P

Anyways back to blogging.

After hearing the news about CNET Editor, James Kim's body being found made me think about what I would do in the same situation. What would you do if you were stuck in the mountains for over a week with no water or food?! Wait for rescuers or look for help yourself?

Based on different reports online.... I've come to conclusion that if you are less than a week into the ordeal you should stay in your vehicle for a few reasons:
1) good form of shelter
2) easier for rescuers to see you in a car than on your feet

Here's a blog that tells you what you should have in a vehicle survival kit

NYC Bans Trans Fats

"The Board of Health voted Tuesday to make New York the nation's first city to ban artery-clogging artificial trans fats at restaurants — from the corner pizzeria to high-end bakeries."

Yahoo! News Link

What has this country come to? No seriously... think about it. The article states that one of the reasons for doing this is because "Trans fats are believed to be harmful because they contribute to heart disease by raising bad cholesterol and lowering good cholesterol at the same time. Some experts say that makes trans fats worse than saturated fat."
And cigarettes and drinking are perfectly good for your health, right? Oh I get it... since you get a cut of those sales in taxes it's a-ok to keep selling those products. What's next? I am sure if I moved to China I would be allowed to eat all the transfat my American Dollar can buy. Doesn't mean I would do it, I just like having my options open since this is the "Land of the Free".

Chai for Tea In Alhambra

Went to Chai for Tea tonight to have a tea party (actually... just to have an excuse to use my camera :P).

This place was decent. The service was cool and surprisingly I actually liked my Almond Black Tea. We also got some sweet toast and the spicy (we got mild) fried chicken.

Here are the pics:

Here are some random pictures I took on the way home:

Cafe Spot

I ate here last week with a few friends. The food is the same as any other cafe in the San Gabriel Valley. The only difference with this place is that they serve alcohol and they serve their drinks in odd looking mugs.

In n out + working out

I just had some In n out tonight (double double w/ xtra onions + tomatoes w/ fries) and a few hours afterwards I went down to the gym and exercised for 2 hours!

I burned at least 600 calories (to make up for my burger) and now I am starting to think that this may be the ultimate body fuel!

I will need to test this hypothesis with plenty of fast food.

Will keep you updated.

Vanguard, Hollywierd

Last Night I went to Vanguard for the very first time in about 6 months. I was so against this place for a wide variety of reasons but since It was my friends birthday last night and there was NO cover, I decided to give it another shot. The place is the same shit hole it has always been but it seems like they have upped the prices of drinks. Beers now go for $7 EACH and mixed drinks go for about $13 EACH. These prices are on par with that of Vegas clubs (if not more). Good thing my friends and I worked on JD before we got in. The night was fun and I got pretty buzzed from the expensive drinks (expensive drinks contain more alcohol).

After last night I don't plan on going to Vanguard for a long while unless it's open bar for the entire night or some ridiculous shit like that. I still miss the night of FREE Budweiser all night at Vanguard when I first started going there. Now those were Good Times!
