Costco's "Lifetime replacement plan" is over. :(

After much abuse from many Costco members and trying to turn a higher profit margin. Costco has decided to dump the liberal return policy of before and have instead implemented a 90 day return policy on all electronics. Everything else in the store is still eligible for the lifetime return policy (i.e. flowers, food, etc.).

I am still going to take advantage of this system with my DSLR since I believe that old purchases made before the 25 of Feb. 2007 are still eligible for this "service".

I believe this will be a very, very bad idea for Costco. The only reason a majority of people would purchase electronics at Costco is for this policy and without it they cannot compete against online vendors or even brick and mortar retail stores.

Another Blow To Nikon...

Canon just announced that they are releasing the 1DMKIII soon. Along with a few other accessories.

Boo!

Why does Nikon always gotta be so slow?

I may have to return my d80 for some canon love. :(

Another Pink Berry Trip

My friend Janet was in town from NYC and one of the places that I took her to was PinkBerry.

Although, I didn't find it all that great I decided to take her there anyways (since she's never been).

After ordering our super expensive frozen yogurts. We sat down on the futuristic-styled furniture and enjoyed (tried to) our yogurt. After a few spoonfuls, Janet decided (being the tourist that she was) to take some pictures of her yogurt. A few seconds after she pulled out her photographic weapon, the yogurt master (cashier) screamed, "Not pictures inside or OUTSIDE this store!". Now... I sort of get the idea of why you couldn't take pictures inside the store (although I still think it's utter bullshit), but fuck'n outside of the store? I thought I was in North Korea for a second, but then I realized I was only in Korea Town. Korea Town located in Los Angeles, California, US of A. Obviously this guy doesn't know shit about where and when I can take pictures.

This will probably be the last time I goto this place.

$5 for a frozen yogurt, fine
10 person line, OK
$1 for parking, meh
Telling me I can't take a fuckn picture, FUCK YOU PINK Berry... 21 choices > your shit.

Have a nice day. O, and we took a picture regardless of your bullshit commie rules!

O and BTW... If someone from corporate wants to respond, please feel free to comment.

Happy Chinese New Years!

Better late than never.

I hope everyone will have a very prosperous and healthy New Years!

My New Year's dinners rocked! We had lobster, chicken, cha sew, and shark's fin soup! Yum!

Thank god my 1-year of "bad-luck" has been over.

Most hyped thing of 2007 (so far): Pink Berry

My friends have been talking about this frozen yogurt shop for a few weeks now. I finally had the opportunity to try it yesterday and I have to report that it didn't live up to the hype.

It is basically unflavored frozen yogurt with fresh fruits. Did it taste bad? No, not at all it was actually pretty refreshing but to make this place out to be God's Basket Robbins is definitely way off.

Try at your own risk. Shit is expensive too! (thanks Will :P).

Chinatown firecracker 5k

What can I say? It rained the entire race and the race involved several steep inclines but other than that it was pretty fun.

I rocked my old time! Beat that shizzle by 3 minutes!

For Eternity

This is pretty interesting... I think this would be even better if they knew who these people were and what happened to them.

From: http://news.mongabay.com/2007/0207-skeleton.html

Archaeologists unearthed a pair of human skeletons lying in an eternal embrace at a construction site outside Mantua, 25 miles south of Verona, the city featured in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." The skeletons date are thought to be 5,000-6,000 years ago.

Elena Menotti, the archaeologist who led the team on the dig, told the Associated Press that it was the first time a Neolithic couple had been found in such a position.

"As far as we know, it's unique," Menotti is quoted by The Associated Press as saying. "Double burials from the Neolithic are unheard of, and these are even hugging."

Tooth records indicate the male-female couple was young at the time of death, but it is unclear as to the nature of their relationship.

The annoucement came just a week before Valentine's Day.

Run, Alan Run!

Just picked up my first pair of running shoes over the weekend at A Snail's Pace. The employees there were great and helped me find my perfect fit. I highly recommend it for people that do not know what type of running shoes they should pick up.

I got a pair of Asics Gel Evolution II. Pretty good so far. We'll see how it hold ups for the Chinatown 5k this weekend.

I must beat my old time from the OC 5k or I will be highly disappointed.

Valentines Gift Ideas

Since Valentines is coming up I thought I would like to help out some of my peoples. Forget about the typical gifts such as flowers, chocolates, stuffed animals. All that stuff is played out. If you really want to impress you should get her one of these.

You can thank me later.
